A Primer on International Trade Analysis

Along with the trade liberalization in many developing countries and increases in global FDI flows, the international trade growth has accelerated since late 1980s. For the period 1990-2006, real world commodity exports (in volume terms) grew by 6.8% per annum, compared to 3.6% for real GDP. Reflecting the flourishing trade flows, many companies seek opportunities associated with the rising trade flows. There is also an increasing need for the government trade analysts to analyze trade policy issues. The purpose of this workshop is to offer a comprehensive course on international trade analysis.
